VENUS Fashion
Branding and print
-
I honed my ability to create cohesive, on-brand visuals across a variety of touchpoints. From lookbooks and catalogs to email campaigns and paid media, I developed a keen sense of how to ensure that each design aligned with VENUS's overall aesthetic. This involved working with color palettes, typography, and imagery that reinforced the brand's voice, while also ensuring that each project maintained a consistent look and feel that resonated with our audience.
-
I gained extensive experience in website design, including optimizing layouts and user interfaces to improve customer navigation and engagement. Understanding the importance of e-commerce flow, I focused on creating design elements that were both aesthetically pleasing and functional, improving the overall user experience and conversion rates.
-
I learned how to craft eye-catching digital ads for various platforms, ensuring the designs were optimized for performance. This included mastering the nuances of different ad formats (static images, carousels, videos) and tailoring the designs to fit the specific needs of each platform (Instagram, Facebook, Google Display Network, etc.). Understanding how to integrate clear calls-to-action (CTAs) and messaging that aligned with the campaign goals became an essential skill.
-
I developed strong skills in building catalogs that were not only visually appealing but also strategically organized to enhance product discoverability. Balancing design with functionality, I learned how to create compelling product pages and layouts that encouraged customers to browse, engage, and ultimately purchase. I also worked with print production teams to ensure the designs translated effectively to physical catalogs.
-
This role taught me how to work efficiently within cross-functional teams, collaborating closely with marketing, product, and editorial teams to meet deadlines and ensure that all deliverables were aligned with the brand’s strategic objectives. I also became adept at managing multiple projects at once, prioritizing tasks, and troubleshooting any design challenges that arose.
-
Through continuous research and collaboration with the design and marketing teams, I became proficient at understanding and anticipating design trends in the fashion industry. This helped me create fresh, modern designs that not only met current market demands but also pushed the envelope to keep the brand relevant and innovative in a competitive space.
During my time as an in-house graphic designer at VENUS Fashion, I gained a wide array of skills and techniques that helped me become a more versatile and efficient designer, while also sharpening my ability to meet business objectives through visual communication.
here are some key techniques I acquired:
VENUS Fashion is a contemporary women’s fashion brand known for its stylish and trendy clothing, offering a wide range of apparel that includes casual, formal, and occasion-specific wear, as well as accessories. The brand is highly regarded for its modern aesthetic, versatile designs, and focus on creating flattering fits for various body types. VENUS primarily operates through e-commerce and catalogs, providing its customers with fashion-forward yet accessible options that can be easily integrated into their daily lives.
Catalog work
Over the past two years, I’ve worked alongside a dedicated team at VENUS Fashion, where we focused on refining product presentation within their catalogs. Our efforts centered on improving layout, imagery, and content to drive better customer engagement. While the brand faced its share of challenges, we consistently analyzed key metrics like conversion rates, click-through rates, and customer feedback to adjust our strategies. Through ongoing iterations, we managed to see some positive shifts in user engagement and sales
Influencer Lookbooks
During my time at VENUS Fashion, I took the lead on designing and laying out Lookbooks specifically tailored for influencers to boost our marketing efforts. One of the standout projects was a collaboration with Delilah Belle, where we created a visually striking Lookbook that aligned with her personal style and audience. The design process was highly strategic—we carefully selected the right products, incorporated engaging visuals, and ensured the layout was influencer-friendly to amplify social media reach.
By crafting these Lookbooks with influencers in mind, we were able to showcase the products in a more authentic, aspirational way.
Email design
I collaborated closely with the rest of the design team to craft compelling email campaigns for VENUS Fashion. Our primary goal was to create visually engaging templates that not only caught the eye but also resonated deeply with our target audience. Each email campaign was carefully structured to highlight new arrivals, seasonal collections, exclusive promotions, and influencer partnerships, ensuring the content felt fresh, timely, and aligned with current trends.
By leveraging A/B testing and analyzing engagement metrics like open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates, we were able to continuously refine our strategy. We found that well-crafted emails with clear calls to action and personalized offers led to higher customer retention and stronger sales. These campaigns became one of the primary ways VENUS connected with its audience, with email marketing consistently proving to be an effective channel for driving consumer interest and building brand loyalty.
Homepage/Website Design
One of my key responsibilities at VENUS Fashion was overseeing the regular homepage refreshes for our Shopify site. Initially, we updated the homepage every Thursday, ensuring that the content was always fresh and aligned with current trends, promotions, and seasonal shifts. This weekly refresh allowed us to keep the site dynamic and engaging, while also promoting new collections, limited-time offers, and featured products.
As the business evolved, we transitioned to refreshing the homepage twice a month, which allowed us to be more strategic with our updates. With a more focused cadence, we could plan out larger, more impactful updates that aligned with marketing campaigns, influencer partnerships, and major product launches. Each refresh involved updating imagery, adjusting copy, and reorganizing content to highlight the most relevant and timely offerings.
I worked closely with the design team to ensure the homepage remained visually appealing and user-friendly, while also optimizing for conversion. We paid attention to key elements such as product placement, promotional banners, and featured categories to maximize customer engagement. By aligning the homepage updates with broader marketing goals, we saw increased traffic and a smoother customer journey, helping to drive both sales and brand presence online. The process became an integral part of our overall digital strategy, ensuring that VENUS Fashion’s online presence was always current and in tune with what was most important to our customers.
